Hi,

I would appreciate it if someone could explain how I can change the name of a component that appears in the Component menu in the admin backend.

Are all the component MENU names lcoated in the database or in other files?

Which files do I have to edit ti change the backend menu names?

I am interested to change JEvents, DT Registerand Aca Joom to more friendly menu names.

hi
its very simple to do this
yes you can change the name
go to PhpMyAdmin and open your joomla database
there will be a table named as jos_components
this table contains details of all the components
click on browse button and here you can change the name of desired component

change the name and click on GO or save button
