Job Description

 The Project Manager is responsible for planning, estimating, providing day-to-day management, leadership, direction and administration across the full project lifecycle (planning through implementation) on small, medium and large size projects or portions of a major project/program. Works with Technology and Business teams as well as the relevant Functional Managers to ensure the project adheres to the CVS Enterprise Methodology, project scope and to the CVS project standards. Must provide solutions that meet the business objectives and deliver on time, on budget and with a high degree of quality. Also provide guidance to other project managers and contribute to the project manager center of excellence.

• Working with team leads, functional managers and project support staff (Architects, DBA’s, etc.) to create, maintain, and manage the project schedule.

• Establishing, managing, and controlling project scope through a structured scope management process.

• Project administration including forecasting setup and tracking, project financials, time/expense reconciliation and enforcement of standards.

• Team Leadership - Planning for and acquiring team resource needs. Making the most effective use of people involved with the project. This entails day-to-day team management, team communication, identifying and leveraging strong skills while developing others.

• Project Communication - Ensuring timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, and storage of project information. Preparing project status report and keeping upper management, business clients and others informed of project status and related issues.

• Be a proactive participant in the creation and evolution of project management best practices within the organization. 

Qualifications Requirements:
• Eight or more years of professional, related experience (consulting, software development, client management, team management), with a minimum of six years project management experience.
• Project management experience in software development and business planning across the full project lifecycle (planning, requirements definition, design, build, and deployment).
• Baseline discipline experience as a developer, technical/applications architect, test analyst or business analyst.
• Experience managing a broad diversity of both business and technology oriented personnel.
• Experience managing client relationships.
• Strong planning and estimating skills for time and cost across all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Experience using planning and estimation software such as Microsoft Project.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with multiple teams, delegating work load and ensuring team efficiency.
• Must be able to identify, assess and resolve complex business problems/issue/risks and facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work with the business users, understand their needs and translate those needs to the final project deliverables.
• Ability to work with the technical resources, understand their needs and coordinate their efforts to deliver the final project solution.
• Function as a leader throughout the project lifecycle.
• Understanding of software development methodologies such as RUP, Waterfall, SDLC etc.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with information technology focus.
• Project Management Certification is desirable.
• Off-Shore vendor experience is a plus.
